Niagara Orleans Model Railroad Engineers
Inc. (NOME), was founded over 30 years ago by a small group of railroad fans to
promote all aspects of the hobby of model railroading. Our “Clubhouse” is located inside “The
Summit” (formerly Summit Park Mall),
Niagara Falls, NY. Our meetings are
held at the “Niagara County Safety Building” in Lockport, NY. The membership also provides operating displays
of “N” and “HO” Scale modular layouts throughout the region.
To be
considered for Regular or Junior Membership one must complete the following:
A NOMRE
sponsored event shall be defined as a work session of at least two hours
duration, an exhibition of NOMRE operating layouts, including set up and/or
dismantling, or any other event so designated at the time the event is
scheduled. Work sessions can be located at shows, members' homes or at the
clubhouse. The presence of the prospective member at the event shall, at his
request, be attested by the event chairman or the prospective member's spouse
who shall report to the NOMRE secretary. These requirements may be waived for
cause.
Layouts:
Currently, NOME has three (3) primary layouts: “N” and “HO” Scales, which
are fully modular for display at train/hobby-related shows and sponsored events
across Western New York and Southern Ontario (both scales supporting analog and
Digital Command Control operation) and “O” Scale is generally an in-house
“non-traveling” layout.

Regular meeting are currently held every third Thursday of the month
starting at 7:30, the first portion of which consists of a program (e.g. a
demonstration of modeling techniques, a railroad- related information
presentation, or possibly a related video).
